RATES AND POLICIES 2022
IN A NUTSHELL
AT-HOME PREPARATION IS ESSENTIAL
Students are expected to be 'Willing Participants' who commit to an age-appropriate routine of thoughtful at-home preparation - just 10 to 15 minutes most days per week is all it takes to see meaningful results! Acting as a “Life Coach”, parents commit to providing students with the guidance to set aside time for practice and provide whatever level of supervision is necessary for the student to progress. The teacher's role as "Method Coach" is to unfold the program in a manner and at a pace that suits the developmental needs of the student.
A QUALITY AT-HOME PRACTICE INSTRUMENT IS REQUIRED.
An acoustic piano is preferred and should be tuned and serviced about once a year. A full-size digital piano (61 keys minimum) with touch sensitive and weighted keys and sustain pedal (not button) is acceptable. Appropriate internet service and internet-ready devices are necessary in order to properly use the Student Home Materials.
NO LONG-TERM COMMITMENT
Lessons may be discontinued with 30 days' notice.
NO MAKEUPS OR REFUNDS, EXCEPT WHEN LESSONS ARE MISSED BY THE TEACHER
Your tuition reserves a time just for you!
Music study requires a long term relationship between you and your teacher, and the benefits of such a relationship continue even if you have to miss a lesson due to illness or another reason. In the event of a student’s absence, previous lesson assignments will continue to be valuable as well as the continued expectations for the next lesson.
In the case of illness of student/parent, please DO NOT attend the lesson in person. Instead, if the student is able, they may attend their lesson online. In the case of a teacher-missed lesson, credit will be issued to reduce future tuition.
FORMAT
In-person or online with Zoom. Lessons are held online in the event of inclement weather, illness, or distance.
SHARING OPPORTUNITIES
Occasional virtual events will be offered for students to share their progress in a nurturing and noncompetitive environment.
